Next to laundry, what's a household duty most folks don't like to do? You guessed it! Grocery Shopping! Honestly, I used to kind of like it, going up and down the aisles finding new food to try and getting inspired with new meals and snacks. After having the baby though?? I HATE IT. I still like to eat and cook, but the mere thought of stepping foot into the grocery store with a full list of items gives me the heebie jeebies. I feel like I waste a lot of time in the store and I am always forgetting something or going way over budget. Enter Walmart Grocery Pickup.

I know what you are going to say...giiirl you better try Instacart. Well, I did that before. While Instacart IS convenient because they deliver, it's more expensive. The price of the groceries on Instacart are more expensive than they are in the store you are getting them from, the sales of that particular grocery store do not apply (where they do that at???), and on top of that there is a delivery fee. Some may find the convenience is worth the extra cost, but I had to find a better way!

In a recent trip to Wally World (AKA WalMart) I saw the orange Pickup signs and wondered what it was all about. By the time I got home I forgot about it UNTIL this past weekend. I was looking at the sales paper online and saw the Pickup option and got intrigued. You mean to tell me I can order my groceries online ($30  minimum...easy peasy) and just go pick them up? Sign me up! I started adding my groceries to my cart and I paid attention to the prices. They seemed to be the same as they are in store, and that made me smile on the inside. After I added possibly everything they had in the grocery section at Walmart to my cart, I started the checkout process. It was so easy and painless. There is also an option if your items aren't available, they will substitute them free of charge. You choose your store, choose an available pickup time, and enter your payment information. I had to wait until the next morning to pick up my items as all the time slots were taken for the day, so I was kind of bummed about that. The site did let me know to download the free Walmart Grocery app as I needed that to pick my items up. One of the best features is that there is NO CHARGE for using the Pickup service!!

So Sunday comes and I head out to Walmart to pick up our groceries. I was instructed to check in on the app to let them know I am on my way. The app shows your estimated arrival time. When I arrived, I pulled up to the designated Pickup area and parked. I checked in on the app again to let them know I was there. A friendly associate came out and asked to confirm my name and she went and got my order and put them in my vehicle for me. The process was seamless and there were no issues. Because I am the Absent Minded Professor, I did have to go in the store anyway to grab some things I forgot in my order. While I was in the store, I saw associates filling other orders and instantly became a secret agent and started snapping pics. The IT professional in me was intrigued by the fulfillment process, so yes I geeked out in Walmart.

I know some people feel some type of way about Walmart, and so do I depending on the day, but this Pickup service saved me so much time and headache. I was able to shop from the comfort of my home, pay the same prices as I would in the store, pick them up and go on with my life. I was also able to copy and paste my receipt number in the Walmart app for the Savings Catcher! I already got $7 back from my first order! I also noticed when I was picking my time slot that there is a delivery option, but it didn't seem to be available in my area. Hopefully it will be soon. After doing some quick research, the fee is $9.95 plus a $50 minimum, which is not bad at all.  I would definitely use this service on a regular basis, no questions asked.
